A new cargo terminal will allow the airport of Uzbekistan's capital to increase cargo handling almost 4.3 times - from 70 to 300 tons per day, the presidential administration said.

Uzbek authorities have not announced the expected timeframe for the project's implementation or its cost.

The air harbor is currently reconstructing its departure terminal. The work is being done in three stages.

As a result, registration, customs control and security will be expanded. The terminal's capacity will double to 2,400 passengers per hour.
