Uzbekistan and Russia introduce a system of mutual recognition of drug labeling codes

The countries signed an Agreement on Information Interaction for transfer of data on labeling codes of medicines for medical use.

The agreement will allow to reduce manufacturers' costs in terms of re-labeling of medicines during their mutual export/import from the two countries; to record the moments of export of medicines on the territory of the two countries in the export mode; to trace the movement of medicines on the territory of the two countries.

Freight transportation to the EU will be developed through Bulgaria

On September 3-4 of this year, a meeting of the joint Uzbek-Bulgarian commission on international road transport was held at the Ministry of Transport.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further expansion of cooperation in the field of development of international freight transport by road, creation of favorable conditions for national carriers.

In particular, aspects related to the increase in the volume of cargo transportation to EU countries through Bulgaria using the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route were considered.

Following the meeting, additional permit forms for 2024 were exchanged. It was also agreed to exchange permit forms for 2025, which is 15 times more.

Recall that in order to develop cargo transportation to EU countries by diversifying existing routes and developing alternative transport corridors, an agreement was reached with Romania on April 1, 2024 on the implementation of bilateral and transit cargo transportation in the system without permits.

The volume of air cargo transportation in Uzbekistan grew by 17.2%

In the first half of 2024, Uzbekistan transported 5,900 tons of cargo by air, the Statistics Agency reported.

This is 866 tons or 17.2% more than in the same period of 2023.

Tajikistan agreed on discounts for rail freight from neighboring countries

The management of the Tajik Railroad was able to agree on “significant discounts” for international transportation from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and other countries, the head of the state enterprise Komil Mirzoaliev said, the state agency Khovar reported.

The head of Tajik Railways did not say what benefits Tajikistan's national railroad carrier received.

According to him, Tajik railway workers transported 3.2 million tons of cargo in the first half of 2024.

Mirzoaliev also noted that more than 72% of all international freight transportation of Tajikistan falls on rail transport.
