Chinese companies China Poly Group and China Electric have started to build a solar power plant with a capacity of up to 500 megawatts in Jizzak region, the administration of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

The expected investment in the project is $350m.

The first 200 megawatts of generating capacity is planned to be put into operation at the end of 2024.
